This is the tumblr for the short stories of the imagination right in my brain. Suggestions will gladly be taken in my ask box. Please enjoy these small stories of imagery!
The vibrating guitar strings brought Nick into one of those long, hard thinking trances. After stepping off the plane, he had been struck completely with nerves, knowing that in a few hours there would be an extreme change in his life. But for right now, this is what he needed—to get it down on paper and out of his head. It was like water draining from the pipe when Nick picked up his guitar. He could finish songs in minutes with no flaws. Slipping note after note into the air, Nick could barely hear his name being called above his trance. “Nick!” He shook his head, clamping his fingers on the strings and looking to his left, seeing Kevin leaning against the doorway, “I know you’re nervous.” Nick swallowed, “Why would you say that?” Kevin pushed himself off of the door and stood with his arms crossed, looking down on his brother and smiling, “Proposing is a big deal, Nick, there’s no way you can’t not be nervous.” Nick sighed, running his free hand over his tired face and hoping Kevin wouldn’t notice. “I just…I’m scared to death that she’ll either say no, or not love me enough back to marry me. I…I don’t know…it’s so stupid.” He shook his head and tried not to think that way. Kevin clicked his tongue, shaking his head ridiculously towards his little brother, “Lucy can’t and won’t say no. One, because you two have been dating for what? Five years? Yeah five years. That’s more than enough love to last a life time. I can guarentee that she’ll say yes in a heartbeat, if not a blink of an eye. You have nothing, and I do mean nothing, to worry about, bro. Just as long as you don’t forget the ring…that’s the important part.” Nick had always looked up to Kevin relationship wise, but he never new how much of a role model he could be. Numbing his nerves, Nick pushed the guitar aside, jumped off the bed, and then ran towards the door after swiping up his car keys. “Hey Nick?” Kevin piped up before shutting the door. “Yeah?” Nick replied, looking back. Kevin tossed a little black box in Nick’s direction, in which he caught, “You might need that if you want to propose correctly.” Nick chuckled, “I don’t know what I’d do without you, bro.” Nick waved to Kevin goodbye, and all was silent again. Except for the pounding in Nick’s heart as he jogged down the stairs of the hotel, bringing him one step closer to his long awaited future.
